This was a big show to close out a pretty successful year for Jd'.  The main event was a streetfight between Fang Suzuki and The Bloody.

Chiaki Kashida
All the wrestlers were extremely nice to me. Especially Keiko Furuta. She was nice enough to talk to me for a good 10 minutes.  She speaks very good English as she lived in Los Angeles for a few years and goes to a college in Tokyo that has all its classes taught in English.

Keiko Furuta/Chiaki Kashida vs Teruko Kagawa/Yumi Ohka
IMG_0995.JPG (80305 bytes) Furuta and Kashida
This was mainly a comedy match.  You'll notice the camera right in front of me.  That was a common theme for the whole night.
IMG_0996.JPG (90968 bytes) Kagawa and Ohka give Furuta what for.
IMG_0997.JPG (101091 bytes) Kashida is quite big compared to the other wrestlers with a pretty good charisma.  If she had stuck to wrestling, she probably would have been very good.
IMG_0999.JPG (79059 bytes) Furuta was able to pin Ohka with a nifty Jumping Hammerlock Victory Roll.
IMG_1000.JPG (88000 bytes) Furuta, Kashida and Kagawa (along with Ayano Ohmori) are all retiring from wrestling in March to concentrate on acting.  Wrestling in Jd' was always gonna be temporary, unfortunately.

MARU vs Haruka Matsuo

IMG_1002.JPG (81180 bytes) Matsuo only debuted in June but has shown great instincts in the wrestling ring.  Hopefully, she will continue to improve.
IMG_1003.JPG (82117 bytes) MARU on the other hand was an embarrassment.  Being the senior wrestler she had most of the offense.  Only problem is she did the same 2 moves over and over again.  Eventually getting the win through a chorus of boos.

Emi Tojyo vs Ayano Ohmori
IMG_1008.JPG (136987 bytes) Ayano Ohmori showing off her cowboy outfit.  She threw the hat into the stands and it totally buzzed me.  If it had been a saw blade, I would have had a brand new part in my hair.
IMG_1009.JPG (96495 bytes) Tojyo is a superstar in waiting.  She has pretty decent skills for such an inexperienced wrestler as well as unbelievable ring presence.  If she keeps at wrestling, she will be a superstar.
IMG_1010.JPG (86208 bytes)IMG_1011.JPG (92969 bytes) Ohmori got very little offense in, this exchange being about all.
IMG_1012.JPG (73840 bytes) The rest of the time was pretty much domination by Tojyo, who stretched Ohmori and basically dominated her.
IMG_1014.JPG (72017 bytes) Damn, I wish the picture had come out better.
IMG_1015.JPG (84370 bytes)IMG_1016.JPG (85011 bytes) Tojyo eventually picked up the win and had a nice little respect moment with Ohmori.

Ariya/Cyber Iizuka vs Hiromi Yagi/Ranmaru

IMG_1018.JPG (98762 bytes) Cyber Iizuka is formerly Obacchi Iizuki, a kooky comedy wrestler.  Funny thing is she can really wrestle, hence a new gimmick to get her over as a serious wrestler.
IMG_1019.JPG (98844 bytes) Ariya showing her ups.
IMG_1021.JPG (85292 bytes) This was a pretty even match with all 4 at the top of their game.
IMG_1022.JPG (118292 bytes) You might notice that Iizuka isn't the slightest person in the world.  Somehow she managed to execute a somersault press with 2.5 twists.
IMG_1023.JPG (95423 bytes) Unfortunately for her, Yagi cut her off at the pass on the second attempt.
IMG_1024.JPG (64944 bytes) Snuck a pic of this pinning predicament thru the throng.
IMG_1025.JPG (96672 bytes) Iizuka's old gimmick involved her carrying around a Japanese radish.  Ranmaru broke out her own version and smacked Iizuka over the head with it. Yagi then came with a kick to the dome for the win.

Jd' began the Athtress project in 2000 as a way to generate interest in their wrestling product.  The Athtresses are mainly actresses trained to wrestle.  They wrestle, act and do some product modeling as part of their duties.  At the end of 2 years, the Athtress most likely leaves to pursue interests outside of wrestling. (I mentioned this is the case with the first 4 Athtresses, who "graduate" in March)  For the last few months of 2001, a contest was run to determine the "Queen of Athtresses" among the 7 current Athtresses; Furuta, Ohmori, Kagawa, Kashida, Tojyo, Ishikawa and Ohka.  The winner for 2001 was Ayano Ohmori.

Sachie Abe/KAZUKI vs Sumie Sakai/Hiroyo Muto (Champions)

IMG_1040.JPG (99533 bytes) This was a TWF Tag Title Match featuring the champs Sakai/Muto against the newly named team of Abe/KAZUKI, better known as WANTED
IMG_1039.JPG (85345 bytes)IMG_1041.JPG (95519 bytes) Abe and KAZUKI have become the comedy duo of the heel stables Superterrors.  First they tried to steal the belts and then bribe ref Tommy Ran with a 1000 yen bill. (about $7.50)
IMG_1043.JPG (88673 bytes)IMG_1044.JPG (97680 bytes) It was all WANTED early as they double teamed Muto and Sakai.
IMG_1045.JPG (107312 bytes) Abe looked to injure herself badly, but was able to come back with a little help from her bamboo shoot bat.
IMG_1049.JPG (103951 bytes) Eventually, Muto made a come back, forcing Abe to submit in the backbreaker while stomping KAZUKI.
IMG_1050.JPG (87715 bytes) KAZUKI then got on the mike crying over her loss and demands a rematch.  She showed a congratulation video where her parents are saying how proud they are of her winning the title.  Before Abe can show her video, Muto agrees to a rematch and gets snuck by a Abe headscissors for the loss.
IMG_1054.JPG (83713 bytes)IMG_1055.JPG (87670 bytes) WANTED had to do their own victory presentation as no one was willing to validate their victory.
IMG_1052.JPG (82249 bytes) Tommy was thinking about swiping the belts for herself in all the confusion.
IMG_1056.JPG (88805 bytes)IMG_1059.JPG (75741 bytes) Eventually, WANTED got their belts and the photo op.

Fang Suzuki vs The Bloody
IMG_1061.JPG (80490 bytes) This match was a streetfight for the AWF/Queen of the Ring double title belts, which had been vacated soon after a victory by Fang in a 3-way match between Fang/Bloody and Sakai,
IMG_1062.JPG (82483 bytes) The match featured 4 different weapons areas: Ladder Forest, Oil Drum Field, Table Land and Chair Mountain.  I happened to be right next to Ladder Forest.
IMG_1063.JPG (119993 bytes)IMG_1064.JPG (84071 bytes) And right off the bat, they jump into Ladder Forest.
IMG_1065.JPG (78721 bytes)IMG_1066.JPG (67940 bytes) This was a battle between allies in the Superterrors group.  Their relationship had become strained lately.  And became even more strained with this match.
IMG_1067.JPG (92761 bytes)IMG_1068.JPG (106568 bytes) Even inside the ring there was heavy use of weapons.
IMG_1072.JPG (92669 bytes)IMG_1073.JPG (84534 bytes) Bloody controlled most of the first part of the match.
IMG_1071.JPG (101269 bytes)IMG_1074.JPG (98303 bytes) At about the 15 minute mark, however, Bloody caught a really nasty chairshot and looked to have badly injured her arm.  From the swelling and way she was dangling it, she quite possibly broke it.
IMG_1075.JPG (88330 bytes)IMG_1078.JPG (82992 bytes) As you can almost tell by these pictures, they were trying to kill each other all over the place.
IMG_1081.JPG (71441 bytes)IMG_1084.JPG (90793 bytes) I was lucky enough to get a lot of action right in front of me.  I guess they felt comfortable in Ladder Forest.
IMG_1085.JPG (120838 bytes)IMG_1086.JPG (97243 bytes)
IMG_1087.JPG (107192 bytes)IMG_1088.JPG (134233 bytes)
This action was a little too close.  I actually had to jump a few times to keep from getting trampled by the wrestlers.  That's okay, the price you pay for such good pictures.  If you look really close, you might even be able to see my chair down there.
IMG_1091.JPG (89046 bytes)IMG_1092.JPG (82788 bytes) They liked playing with the ladders so much, they took them to Oil Drum Field.
IMG_1095.JPG (97259 bytes)IMG_1097.JPG (78674 bytes) They then took the ladders to Table Land.
IMG_1099.JPG (79265 bytes) Bloody moving around too much to see her maimed arm.
IMG_1101.JPG (80669 bytes)IMG_1102.JPG (70983 bytes) Back in the ring and it turned into an all-out slugfest.
IMG_1104.JPG (76762 bytes)IMG_1106.JPG (84821 bytes) Bloody was a mess.  That's before Fang introduced the chain.
IMG_1107.JPG (94738 bytes) Bloody finally got the win after smacking Fang with her fist wrapped in chain.
IMG_1109.JPG (88686 bytes) Fang asked for and got a title rematch in a cage match for January.
IMG_1114.JPG (98606 bytes) A bruised and swollen Bloody with the 2 title belts.
