Dead Calm
This is terror on the high-seas starring Sam Neill,
Nicole Kidman and Billy Zane as the maniacal stowaway.
Sam Neill and Nicole Kidman take their yacht out to
sea to get over the death of their son only to pick up
the wrong man in Billy Zane.
Zane is mesmorizing as a man descending into complete insanity. He terrorizes Kidman incessantly. Unfortunately, this movie has one of the worst endings
ever. But apart from that it is another example of a
well made Australian film.
For those of you who are interested in comedy, may I
suggest another Nicole Kidman movie, BMX Bandits. The
first time I saw it in the early 80's, I had to laugh
at how bad it was. Combine that with a gangly, natty
head of a leading actress in a really young Nicole
Kidman and I doubt you'll have a better laugh this
weekend.
