The Vanishing (Dutch Version)
The original Dutch version of this movie is a classic.
If you've already seen the American version, don't
worry. That one was so screwed up by the producers
that's its almost like a different movie.
The story is of a couple, Rex and Saskia, whose perfect love is ruined when she mysteriously disappears. This sets her boyfriend Rex on the seemingly endless quest to discover what happened to her.
As the movie continues, you become totally engrossed into finding out what happened to Saskia. But like Rex, you begin to wonder if you really want to discover the truth.
Warning-The ending is very shocking and intense.
As a side note, the director, George Sluizer, was somehow convinced by smarmy producers to direct the American remake. I'll never understand how that happened. You should be able to find this in the foreign section
of any rental place.
