Searching for Bobby Fischer

This is the true story of a 7 year old chess prodigy in New York City thought to be the next Bobby Fischer. It stars Joe Mantegna and Judy Davis as the parents, Ben Kingsley as the chess teacher, Laurence Fishbourne as the homeless chess mentor and Max Pomeranc as the child prodigy, Josh Waitzkin.

The movie basically revolves around Josh trying to come to grips with seeming invincibility at the chess board and his Dad's obsession with making him a champion.

Its pretty pointless to try and explain why this is my favorite movie as every person is different as to their likes and dislikes. But this movie does a very good job of showing what its really like to be a kid. Not like Disney movies with dancing bears and wacky car chases.

What you can look forward to in this movie is a well paced story involving chess (That's right!) and some remarkable acting.
