Gattaca

Ethan Hawke, as Vincent, and Loren Dean (really underrated actor in my book), as Anton, star as brothers born in totally different worlds.

The movie is set in the near future. Vincent is born the present way, while Anton is born in what they call the natural way. Which in this movie consists of genetically altering fertilized eggs to produce near perfect humans.

Since Vincent wasn't altered genetically, he is looked at as inferior, an In-valid. But Vincent doesn't want to do the menial jobs that In-valids are forced to take.

He uses another man's identity, Jude Law, in order to get into Gattaca and fulfill his dream of going into space. Once in Gattaca, a murder of the mission director threatens Vincent with detection of his true identity.

This movie is a science-fiction movie mixed with thriller. It was written and directed by the same man who wrote The Truman Show.

The movie has a host of brilliant supporting performances by Gore Vidal, Uma Thurman, Tony Shalhoub, Ernest Borgnine and Alan Arkin.
